Building Economics (QSB 3214) (Semester 5)

The lecturers for this subject are Sr Loo Seong King and Dianne Kok Hui Wei. Total credit hours is 4. The assessment plan is divided into four components that are Mid Term test, Assignment, TGC Portfolio and Final Examination. Each component except TGC Portfolio sums up assessment weightage to 100%.

For Mid Term test, the questions are based on Chapter 1 to 4 as the test is in Week 5. For Assignment, I and few members in one group have to apply what we have learned to the problems given.

At the end of the final chapter, I am able to identify the role and responsibilities of Quantity Surveyors in the overall development process and to match the relationship between cost and design to a value outcome, explain various methods of pre-tender estimating, outline the importance of cost studies to enhance the role of Quantity Surveyor in the development process, and produce an estimate at pre-tender stage, cost plan based on historical data and S-curve for financial planning to a proposed project.
